What an incredible evening we had for the Waiau Community Fireworks on Saturday.

A perfect night — great crowd, great tunes, delicious food, happy kids, and when darkness fell, an amazing fireworks display lighting up the sky above a sea of glowsticks.🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night a success. Special thanks to the Waiau Volunteer Fire Brigade, Lyford Volunteer Fire Brigade, our local Police, and St John for their support and presence on the night.

Thank you also to Sheppard Dance Company and Sport Suzie for their fantastic performances and energy on stage, DJ Dwight for getting us dancing, and Firework Professionals for the stunning display.

Today! Waiau Fireworks Night 🎇

A few quick reminders before the fun begins:
🐾 Locals — please keep pets safely indoors and make arrangements for animal and stock safety.
🚫 No glass at the event, thank you.
🚪 Gates open from 5 pm.
💵 Please bring cash for entry and for stalls and activities.
🚫 No entry to the cordoned safety zone and club rooms, and please keep clear of the area behind the club rooms and up the hill.
🎆 No personal fireworks — leave the sparkle to our professional pyrotechnic team!

Top tip: You won’t want to miss the Sheppard Dance Co performance at 6:45 pm, followed by an appearance from Sport Suzie, and then the lolly scramble! 🍭

It’s going to be a fantastic night — we can’t wait to see you there! 🙌
