Do any friends in the wellington region happen to have a 32inch or bigger TV or a working fridge / freezer that they don't need that they would like to donate to Kickstart Youth Centre. TV doesn't need to be flash just needs an HDMI input.

We're on the look out for some youthwork legends to join our Kickstart whanau. Are you Passionate about good outcomes for rangatahi and good youthwork practice - we want to hear from you!

We've got multiple positions going due to a recent injection of funding for a couple of really exciting initiatives. Full and part time positions available. One role is specifically around working with young Pasifika and Maori rangatahi, and the others 3 x FTE roles are supporting a young womens and mens wellbeing programmes that we are rolling out on masse to Upper Hutt.

We're so excited about these projects as they both fill a well identified need for Rangatahi.

A bit of a sad day for the kickstart whanau today. We've been in existance for the past 8 years, and since day one have utilised buses as a social enterprise helping to fund the key work we do in our community. This grew to a fleet of three buses and a substantial income earner for us as an organisation.

Today marks the end of that chapter of social enterprise for us as our final bus departs for a new life as a motorhome.

Essentially COVID19 took away the income earning opportunity for our buses, and with the ongoing maintenance and costs to keep buses on the road with minimal work, we made the difficult decision to sell the buses.

Thankyou to all the businesses, schools and community groups that utilised our buses - you have helped sustain kickstart over the last eight years.

Moving forward, we have a fleet of 6 minibuses available for hire, and we are exploring some other social enterprise options to help provide sustainable income to the key work we do in the Upper Hutt Community.

For our revitalised youth space we're after a PS4, controllers and games for our youth space, and are on a limited budget. If you have one that you no longer need that you could donate or could sell cheaply to us we'd love to hear from you!
