Waikuku Artists Incorporated This page is to share any news in regards to the WAI and its members The WAI includes both professional and emerging artists.

The Waikuku Artists Incorporated was first formed back in 2005 when 2 professional artists, Steve & Mary Bessant, decided to get a group of like minded people from Waikuku together. The first WAI exhibition was held in 2005 at the Waikuku Beach Hall. Since 2011 the WAI has held their exhibition at the iconic Brick Mill on Main North Road.Over the years some members have moved away while new member

s have joined, adding lots of diversity to the group. Every year on the 2nd weekend of February the WAI holds their annual exhibition. The opening night is always eagerly anticipated by the artists and the wider Community. The WAI also runs a FREE Sandcastle Competition every year at the start of January, which is getting bigger and better every year! The WAI also runs Workshops a couple of times a year. In the past they have had Life Drawing Classes, Flax Weaving, and Stone Carving which are open to the community to participate in. A massive thank you goes to Foodstuffs Ltd who have given WAI a generous grants for the printing of our catalogues for 2015
