A light-hearted, engaging and fun Q&A session for our final night of the conference. We welcomed Kingi Snelgar (Ngāpuhi), Te Rā Hodges (Waikato Tainui), Hikurangi Jackson (Ngāti Porou) and Te Okiwa Mclean (Tuhoe) to our panel. They talked to us about their career pathways, a snapshot of their day-to-day mahi, and relived some of the successes and other memorable times of their uni life. It was entertaining to say the least.

Earlier this week, our group went along to tautoko graduation day at the . We paid a special visit to Hineahuone (the Māori Students Association common room), to acknowledge our Māori graduates. Graduation marks the end of a long period of extensive learning and hard-work, so it was fitting for our rangatahi to witness what its like to be at the end of the finish line. 🌏

An incredible session yesterday with . We heard from a number of executives, including Lisa Paraku, who spoke to us about the opportunities for our rangatahi Māori in tech. We also learnt about the journey of “Kupu”, an app that was recently launched with Te Aka and Google. It was inspiring to hear about these tech initiatives that are supporting the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori. @ Spark

Shoutout to this stellar tauira panel, Avary Patutama (Ngāti Awa), Kahu Piripi (Te Rarawa) and Natanahira Herewini (Te Aupouri), who joined us last night for a sprint session. They provided our rangatahi with insights into some of the highlights and challenges they have encountered at law school, and the benefits of support networks like Te Rakau Ture (the Māori Law Students Association).

Thank you to and her colleagues at and , for hosting us yesterday with an exclusive access tour at NZME. Our rangatahi were really interested in understanding the intricacies of how radio broadcasting works, including learning about the music databases and some of the more technical aspects, such as the obligations of radio stations to play songs by companies, like Warner Music. A couple of our rangatahi were also lucky enough to record with for their show. The manaakitanga displayed to us was on another level and we are very grateful for these opportunities! @ NZME.

A few pics from last night at the Sky Tower. From the observation deck, we had a brief lesson about the early history of Tāmaki Makaurau (Tāmaki of a thousand lovers). We learnt about the arrival of Te Arawa and Tainui waka into the Waitemata, and the influence those iwi had in naming key parts of this rohe (region). We also learnt a bit about the contemporary history, including which iwi hold mana whenua here today. Our rangatahi really valued this taonga kōrero! @ Sky Tower
