Our purpose is to provide a holistic wrap around service that assists our Rangatahi/youth to empower themselves and reconnect back to educational training and employment opportunities, culture/Tikanga Maori, physical fitness and wellbeing and whanau relationships. Our success will not only have a positive impact on our rangatahi/youth but also benefit their whanau, Tokoroa and South Waikato. Please get behind us and support our pilot program that is very much needed.

✨️ Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions ✨️

Another awesome session with our rangatahi today 🙌🏽 We kicked things off by delegating our kitchen roles for today’s cooking session, then got straight into preparing a hearty feed of mince stew and mashed potatoes 🍲🥔 You can never sleep on a good mince stew 👌💯

Once the kai was finished and the clean up was all sorted, we headed off for a few games of pool 🎱, some cards, plenty of laughs and good vibes all around. A few of our rangatahi also stepped outside their comfort zones today and volunteered to mic up and jump in front of the camera to answer a few questions 🎤✨️ Massive respect for giving it a go!

We wrapped up the session with a quick feedback round and closed our day together with a karakia 🙏🏽

Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions ✨️

Another mean session today 💯

We started the day by allocating everyone their roles for today’s cooking session and doing a quick budget breakdown, helping our rangatahi learn about planning meals, managing costs and working together as a team. Once the jobs were sorted, the prep team headed off to grab the ingredients while the rest of the crew got everything ready back at base.

Today on the menu was burritos 🌯🔥 and they turned out absolutely delicious! From prepping the fillings, cooking the mince and wrapping everything up, everyone played their part and worked together really well in the kitchen. Awesome to see our rangatahi building confidence, communication skills and independence through these sessions 👌

Once lunch was done, everyone chipped in with the clean up crew making sure the kitchen was left spotless before we headed downstairs for some games of pool and plenty of laughs. Big shout out to Wendy for taking the time to show us some different games and keeping the good vibes going 🙌🎱

These sessions are always more than just kai — they’re about connection, teamwork, life skills and creating a safe space for our rangatahi to come together, have a laugh and support each other..

We wrapped up another solid day with a karakia and headed home. Catch everyone again Friday, same time same place whanau 💯✨️

Another awesome session today at Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions ✨️

Today we split into the prep and cooking crew and the clean up crew, with everyone getting stuck in and playing their part 💯 On the menu today was our own take on Big Mac burgers 🍔 and safe to say burgers are definitely becoming a favourite around here 😄 they tasted algud!

After enjoying our kai and getting the clean up sorted, we headed downstairs for some games and laughs 🎱 while a few of our rangatahi jumped on the laptops and continued working through their drivers licence testing questions 👏

Always good vibes, teamwork and growth happening in our sessions. We wrapped up the day with a karakia and headed home.

Another awesome day wrapping up the week with our Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions 💯✨️

We kicked things off by assigning our roles for today’s cooking session before getting back into the kitchen creating some homemade Rodeo Stacker burgers 🍔🔥 and honestly… they were on point 💯👌

Once the kai was done and everyone had a feed, the crew smashed out the clean up — dishes washed, kitchen spotless, teamwork all around 🙌

After that it was downstairs for some games of pool, plenty of laughs and good vibes with the crew 🎱😄

We finished the day by completing our daily feedback forms before closing our session and week with a karakia 🙏

Another awesome day at the Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions 💯✨️

Today we split into 2 teams, assigned roles for the day, then headed out to collect the ingredients before getting stuck into the prep and cooking 👨‍🍳🍔🍟
Cheese burgers and chips were on the menu today and they were absolutely on point 😮‍💨🔥

While the kai was being prepared, some of our rangatahi continued working through their learner licence testing questions and building their confidence behind the scenes 🚗📚

We wrapped the session up with a few rounds of pool, plenty of laughs, and good vibes all around 🎱😂
Solid day today!

✨️ Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions ✨️

Today was a chilled out session 💯
Our rangatahi spent the day shooting some pool 🎱, playing darts 🎯, having laughs and good kōrero together. We also had everyone complete our new digital feedback surveys so we can keep improving our sessions and making sure our rangatahi voices are heard ✨️

We closed off the day together with a karakia before everyone headed home safe and fed ❤️

Awesome to see our rangatahi continuing to show up, support each other and bring the good vibes every session 🙌

Another awesome day at the Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions 💯✨️

Today we split into 2 teams and assigned roles for our cooking session. While our cooking team got stuck into preparing today’s kai — mean Louisiana chicken burgers 🍔🔥 — our cleaning crew headed downstairs for some games of pool and darts, while also taking turns on the computers going over learner licence questions. The results are getting better every single session and we are super proud of the effort our rangatahi are putting in ✨️

Once our kai was ready, we all headed upstairs and sat down together for a feed… and honestly, it was mean as! 🙌 After lunch the cleaning crew smashed out the dishes and clean up, then we all headed back downstairs for more pool and darts and some good laughs together.

We closed out our day and our week with a reflection round and karakia 🙏

Another awesome day at the Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions today whanau 💯✨️

Today our rangatahi were assigned different roles for our cooking session, working together as a team to make a mean mince stew 🍲 Our prep crew got stuck in preparing the kai and cooking up lunch for everyone, then after we had eaten our clean up crew stepped up and smashed out the dishes and tidied the kitchen. Awesome to see everyone taking responsibility and supporting each other 🙌

Throughout the day some of our rangatahi also jumped on the computers and worked through learner drivers licence testing, making some really positive progress 🚗💻 Big ups to everyone putting in the mahi and building confidence for the future.

To finish the session off we headed down for a few games of pool and had some laughs together 🎱

Proud of the energy, teamwork and growth we are seeing every session. Appreciate all our supporters and everyone backing our kaupapa ❤️

Today marked an awesome first Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check-In Session 💯✨️

We kicked things off by going over some important ground rules and health & safety, setting the tone for a positive and safe space for everyone. From there, we headed out to grab ingredients for our very first cooking session — and the energy was already high 🙌

Back in the kitchen, everyone stepped up and played a role in preparing our kai for the day — a mean chicken fettuccine 👌🔥 There’s something special about working together like that, and you could feel the pride in the room.

Once we wrapped up cooking (and smashed out the clean-up like a solid team 💪), we headed downstairs for a few games of pool, plenty of laughs, and just good vibes all around. We closed the day with a karakia, bringing everything back together in a meaningful way.

Honestly, such an awesome first session — heaps of laughs, great connection, and a strong start for what’s ahead.

A massive thank you to Wayne, Michelle, and the Tokoroa Club for having us and making us feel so welcome — we truly appreciate the support 🙏

Kia Ora whanau its been a minute but we are pleased to announce that the Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check In Sessions will be kicking off next week Wednesday ✨️

These sessions are an important step in strengthening connection, support, and ongoing engagement with our rangatahi. Attendance will be by invite or referral only, ensuring we can provide the right level of care and focus for those involved.

We would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank everyone who has supported us in bringing this kaupapa to life. Your belief, encouragement, and backing have been instrumental in getting this across the line.
