Our purpose is to provide a holistic wrap around service that assists our Rangatahi/youth to empower themselves and reconnect back to educational training and employment opportunities, culture/Tikanga Maori, physical fitness and wellbeing and whanau relationships. Our success will not only have a positive impact on our rangatahi/youth but also benefit their whanau, Tokoroa and South Waikato. Please get behind us and support our pilot program that is very much needed.

🔥 RECONEX NZ – TERM WRAPPED UP! 🔥

Today we wrapped up another awesome term with our Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check-In Sessions 💯

We kept things relaxed today — plenty of laughs, a few games of pool 🎱, good conversations and some sushi for lunch 🍣 before finishing the day together with a karakia 🙏🏽

Today was also a special one as we said farewell to Keion, who has spent almost a year with Reconex. Over that time, we’ve been privileged to watch him grow, develop, overcome challenges and make some real progress. 👊🏽

Keion, we’re proud of the journey you’ve been on and the growth you’ve shown. This might be the end of your time with us for now, but remember — you’ll always have people here who believe in you and want to see you succeed. We wish you nothing but the best for whatever comes next. Keep pushing forward, stay grounded and keep backing yourself. ❤️

Looking back over the term, there’s been progress, growth, achievements, new skills, challenges overcome and some awesome outcomes for our rangatahi. That’s what this kaupapa is all about — creating a space where young people can feel supported, connected, challenged and encouraged to keep moving forward. 💯

A massive thank you to Wayne, Michelle and the Tokoroa Club for your continued support and for helping provide a space where our rangatahi can come together. 🙌🏽

And to everyone else who follows, supports, encourages, shares and backs the Reconex NZ kaupapa — we appreciate you more than you know. 🩵

For now, it’s time to take a well-earned break.

🔥 RECONEX NZ – RANGATAHI CHECK-IN SESSIONS🔥

Another awesome day with our rangatahi! 🙌💯

Today we kicked things off by watching back the recordings from the mock job interviews we held the other day. We took some time to give feedback, reflect on how things went and identify a few areas where we can improve.

From there, we got stuck into the do’s and don’ts of job interviews, talking about how to greet potential employers, the importance of body language, making a strong first impression and how those little things can make a big difference when you're sitting across from an employer.

All key ingredients for a successful interview! ✨

We’re looking forward to running it back on Friday and seeing our rangatahi put those tips into practice during another round of mock interviews. 💪🔥

Then it was time to switch gears and get into today's cooking session! 👩‍🍳

The roles were assigned, everyone got stuck in, and today’s creation was chicken & vegetable wraps 🌯🔥

Safe to say… they were ON POINT! 👌

After lunch we headed down for a few games of pool, plenty of laughs and some good whānau time before wrapping up the day with a quick reflection round and karakia. 🙏

Another day of learning, connection, confidence and growth.🩵

🔥 RECONEX NZ – RANGATAHI CHECK-IN SESSIONS 🔥

We kicked our week off today with our rangatahi getting stuck into mock job interviews 💯👌

We put them through some of the common questions potential employers might ask, giving us a chance to see where they’re currently at and establish a baseline for where we can help them grow.

And the boys did really well! 👏🔥

On Wednesday, we’ll take a deeper look at the do’s and don’ts of job interviews, what the interview process looks like, and how to present yourself with confidence. Then on Friday, we’ll put it all into practice with another round of mock interviews — giving the boys the opportunity to improve, build confidence and put those new skills into action. 💯

After a bit of reflection, we decided to get out and about for a roam to see what opportunities are available in our community. We headed down to Te Tira, who do some awesome mahi for our community, to see if we could get Tama and Keion signed up with Kiwistaff.

Unfortunately, they may be a little young at this stage — but that’s all part of the journey.

Never mind boys — keep plugging away! 💯 There’s someone out there who will see your potential, give you a chance and be willing to take you on. Keep applying, keep learning and don’t give up. 👊🔥

With a low muster today, we decided to give the cooking a miss and headed over to KFC for some lunch instead. 🍗😂

After kai, we wrapped up the day with a quick reflection circle and karakia, giving everyone a chance to reflect on the day and what they took from it.

Another day of connection, confidence, life skills and moving forward. 💯

🔥 RECONEX NZ – TERM 4 ENROLMENTS NOW OPEN! 🔥

We’re looking for 10 rangatahi ready to join us for Term 4.

Reconex NZ is about more than just keeping young people busy.

It’s about connection, confidence, discipline, life skills and helping rangatahi move forward. 💯

Our programme gives young people a supportive environment where they can learn, train, cook, work as a team, set goals and build skills they can use in everyday life.

We work with rangatahi who may be struggling with school, looking for direction, needing something positive to connect with, or simply wanting to become a better version of themselves.

RECONEX NZ RANGATAHI CHECK-IN SESSIONS

Today was another awesome day of learning, growth and getting things done! 💯🙌

This morning Hannah took our rangatahi through how to write a cover letter for a job application — and it was awesome to see them switched on, putting in the mahi and getting stuck into the work.

By the end of the session, they now know how to put together their own cover letters, and even better… two of our rangatahi have completed their very first job applications for New World Tokoroa! 📝💪

Good luck boys! 🤞🔥 We hope yous crack it! But remember, if this one doesn’t work out, keep applying, keep knocking on those doors and don’t give up. Every application is another step forward. 👊

After a full-on morning in the classroom, we decided it was time to get some steps in 🚶‍♂️🌿 and headed over to Lake Moananui for a walk around the lake.

Then it was off to CFC to grab some snack boxes for lunch 🍗🍟 — because all that learning works up an appetite! 😂

After kai, we finished the day with a quick reflection round, sharing how the day went and what we took away from it, before closing with karakia. 🙏

Another productive day filled with learning, confidence, connection and growth. 💯✨

Proud of the mahi the boys are putting in and the steps they continue to take towards their future. ❤️

💯 RECONEX NZ RANGATAHI CHECK-IN SESSIONS 💯

Kia ora whānau!

It’s been a minute since we’ve shared an update, but trust us, we’ve been busy this week!🔥

This week our rangatahi have been getting stuck into learning about CVs — what they are, what goes into them, and the steps involved in creating one that reflects who they are, their skills and where they want to head in the future. ✨

Today we put it all together!

A massive congratulations to Tyrell and Keion Both now know how to create, update and keep their CVs current — and both walked away today with their own up-to-date CVs ready to go!💯

Another skill in the kete and another step in the right direction. 🙌🏽🔥

We had a low muster today, so we kept things relaxed and enjoyed some steak burgers for lunch 🥩🍔 before closing out our day and the week with a quick reflection round and karakia.

A huge mihi to all our rangatahi and their whānau for your continued support. ❤️

✨RECONEX NZ RANGATAHI CHECK-IN SESSIONS✨

Kia Ora whanau we kicked off the day and the week today with some korero around the future and taking a closer look at what kinds of jobs and careers our rangatahi might be interested in down the track.

Over the next 4 weeks we’ll be working through the steps to help get them there — from creating CVs and learning the dos and don’ts of job interviews, right through to running some good old-fashioned mock job interviews 😆. Exciting times ahead and some awesome opportunities to build confidence and get prepared for the workforce! 💯

Then it was time to get the blood pumping with another in-house fitness session with Rich 💪🔥 Today we smashed out a 15-minute partnered AMRAP. Plenty of mahi, plenty of sweat and a good way to wake everyone up!

After that we assigned the roles for today's cooking session and got stuck into making some homemade Mac & Cheese 🧀. Safe to say it turned out pretty damn good!

Once the kitchen was cleaned up, we headed down for a few games of pool 🎱 and, as always, plenty of laughs and good korero along the way.

We finished the session with a quick reflection round and a karakia , taking a moment to look back on the day and recognise the mahi everyone put in.

Another solid Monday in the books! 💯

🔥 ANOTHER WEEK DONE — AND WHAT A WEEK IT’S BEEN!

Today at the Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check-In Sessions, we kicked things off with some brain teasers and a kōrero around visualisation, planning, adapting and staying motivated.

Life doesn’t always go to plan. Sometimes it’s like a maze — you might take a few wrong turns, hit a dead end or have to change direction. But that’s okay. You can always adapt, make adjustments and find your way back onto the right path. 🧠💯

Then it was time to get moving with an in-house calisthenics and Zoo Cardio workout with Rich! 💪🏽 There was some solid effort from the crew considering we’ve all had a long week 😂

After that, we got into the cooking session, assigned everyone their roles and got stuck into making Big Mac tacos/wraps 🍔🌮

And honestly…they came out mean! 🔥

Good food, good laughs, teamwork and everyone playing their part. That’s what these sessions are about — building confidence, connection, life skills and positive routines along the way.

After the clean-up, we finished the week the way we always should — with a quick reflection round and karakia. 🙏🏽

To our rangatahi — be proud of yourselves.Every step forward counts, even the small ones.

And to all the whānau backing them, supporting them and walking alongside them — mihi nui to you.❤️

🔥 Another Win for Our Rangatahi! 💯

Today’s Reconex NZ Rangatahi Check-In Session started with a kōrero around goal setting — understanding that when we set a goal, work towards it and finally achieve it, we should take the time to celebrate that success 🎉👏 Then it’s about looking forward, setting the next goal and taking that next step.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to Kordei, Tama, Keion and Farrah on successfully gaining their learner licences! 🚗💯 What an awesome achievement and something you should all be proud of. Keep moving forward — one step at a time!

After a few games of pool 🎱, we got into today’s cooking session and assigned everyone their roles. Today’s menu was NACHOS 🌮🔥 — and they were absolutely on point! 👌

🚗📚 LEARNER LICENCE JOURNEY IN MOTION! 💯🔥

Today at Reconex NZ, Kordei, Farrah, Keion and Tama were down at Moving Mountains putting in the mahi and preparing for their learner licence tests! 🙌

Today was all about preparation, learning the road rules, building confidence and getting ready for the big day. Tomorrow, you guys take the test! 📝🚦

We’re proud of you all for putting in the effort and taking another positive step towards independence and your future. Wishing Kordei, Farrah, Keion and Tama all the very best for tomorrow! 💯💪

A massive thank you to Nouha from Moving Mountains for the awesome support, patience and teaching. You’re an excellent teacher, and we highly recommend Moving Mountains to any whānau looking for help getting their licence. 👏❤️
