The 2015 NZ Sudoku championships will be held online in the week after Queen's Birthday weekend and in person at Grahamstown Bar and Diner (GBD) Thames on the weekend 6-7 June.

At the ASEAN+ Age Group Championships in Macau in June, Alphaeus Ang finished in bronze medal position in the Open Under-12 section. This carries an automatic CM title, making Alphaeus by far the youngest CM in New Zealand (from the www.newzealandchess.co.nz site)

Child chess champion Alphaeus Ang is leading puzzlers taking part in a nationwide Sudoku contest to determine who will represent New Zealand at the World Sudoku Championship in London later in the year.

the website www.puzzles.kiwi.nz has been updated. The puzzles are now coded in javascript (not as JAVA applets) so they should play on ipads and in Safari browsers

There will be two types of puzzles - classic sudoku and the sudoku variant, vaki puzzles.
