Remember Thames, Use your fog lights correctly!
They're called fog lights for a reason. Turn them on when it's foggy. Turn them off when it's not.
You can only use your vehicle's fog lights when visibility is severely reduced, such as in fog or snow. That's the law.
When it's foggy you should turn your headlights on dipped and turn your fog lights on if your vehicle has them. Your forward-facing lights will help you see the road, and having your headlights on dipped also activates your rear position lights. Together your lights make you much more visible to people behind you and people coming towards you.
On the flipside, you need to turn your fog lights off when it's clear – even at night.
That's because they produce a very intense light that can distract or dazzle people around you – especially rear fog lights, which some vehicles have alongside or below the brake lights, and which can be even more disruptive than forward-facing fog lights.
