Lindsay and Dalaine Walker have over the years sponsored seven children throughout the world through Tear Fund .They have visited them all multiple times …..and have been deeply moved by their individual circumstances. In 4 of these cases the children have attained University qualifications in their own countries….Equator, Colombia, Rwanda and Uganda. These children continue to be helped by the W
alkers and are in regular contact through the wonders of social media . Lindsay and Dalaine pay for all their own travel and arrangements, all money raised through this page and all projects they are involved in goes in its entirety to
the two bricks and mortar projects that they deem to be the most needy of their support, in one of the worlds most impoverished areas ….South West Uganda. In Kakuuto, Uganda they were instrumental in the co ordination to fund raise the building of a community bakehouse which makes over 1,000 loaves of bread a day and bags of buns , employing up to 18 staff and is a great support for the whole community. They have had great success in setting up small micro-enterprise businesses that help people get ahead in their lives and conquer poverty. There is huge opportunities to help many for very little financial outlay. Since September 2018 they have created The Orphanage of Hope, a home for 172 once hugely impoverished orphans in Kabale Uganda close to the often volatile Rwandan border. The previous Orphanage was in a dire and dangerous condition with loss of many children before the Walkers became involved but now includes a newer location and buildings , the creation of a Safari Company ( to be reactivated when the borders open) a large plantation with 70,000 trees , large now owned plots of cultivated land with crops and finally a 10 class room school which is currently being built to both teach the children and ease the chronic over crowding in the Orphanage building. Every dollar is gratefully received particularly in a country where every day is a battle of survival made even more difficult in severe Covid lockdown which has gone on for 17 months…..and every dollar donated reaches the children ……
