As you may be aware there are two pages that are currently active for our hapū: (1) Kokohinau Marae and (2) Te Pahipoto - set up to promote our Rautaki several years ago.

For manageability purposes and in our efforts to work smarter, as of Friday 11 September 2026 this site will be closed. Important historical content will be extracted and stored beforehand.

Tēnā tātou ngā uri o Te Pahipoto. Te Toki 2026 is fast approaching. 📌Long informative post below.

🌿TE AHI KAA: This is the overall roopu that meets regularly to coordinate Te Toki. Several subcommittees exist, with two delegates nominated for each hapū. T**i Eruera is co-opted on supporting Ops and Stalls. Matarena Thompson and I (Hinerangi Eruera Murphy) are repping for Te Pahipoto. Massive thanks Waha Henry for your contributions and for holding this voluntary space for many years.

⏰DATES: Labour Weekend, 23-25 October 2026. General order: Friday - Pōhiri (*time TBC) Saturday - Tamariki me Whakangahau Pakeke. Sunday - Whakataetae.

🎵WHAKATAETAE MOTEATEA: He Waiata Nā Te Wairua - Te Reo Patupaiarehe. Kaitito 1. Tamaikakea, He rangatira nō Ngāti Awa 2. Te Ngahue nō Ngāti Tarawhai ki Te Teko.

🎵WHAKANGAHAU COMPULSORY: Ngāti Awa Te Toki Tangatanga I te Rā. Kaitito: Te Hau Paeroa Hona.

📈JUDGES: Hapū have the right to nominate two people (both days) or 4 depending on cover. We have tabled two nominations.

🌀NEW TAONGA: These are being added for Te Toki 2026. Categories include: best guitarist, eldest performer, best social media, best conductor, 2nd overall tamariki; and 3rd overall tamariki. *More information to come.

👥VOLUNTEERS are required who can commit to working through the Festival. We will campaign for hapū support as there are many jobs to be covered. Register your interest directly. https://www.tetokifestival.com/festival-2026/regos
