Safe Sleep Day is a time to raise awareness about the importance of creating safe sleep environments for our peepi and supporting whaanau with the knowledge and resources they need to keep their babies safe.

This year’s focus is simple but powerful: Every sleep, a safe sleep. Whether it is day or night, at home or away, every sleep provides an opportunity to reduce the risk of sleep-related harm and ensure pēpi sleep safely.

Safe Sleep Day encourages communities, health providers, and whaanau across Aotearoa to come together to share information, strengthen understanding, and promote safe sleep practices. By working together, we can help ensure every pēpi has the safest possible start in life.

Key safe sleep messages include:
💭 Always place pēpi on their back to sleep.
💭 Provide a safe sleep space that is clear of pillows, loose bedding, and toys.
💭 Keep peepi smoke-free before and after birth.
💭 Support breastfeeding where possible.
💭 Ensure pēpi have their own safe sleep surface.

Together, we can make every sleep a safe sleep and help protect the wellbeing of our tamariki and whaanau.

If you require support with accessing Pepi Pods please reach out to our team: [email protected]

Here at Aronui, we prioritised and celebrated the amazing maamaa we work alongside by hosting a Mothers day Weave and Glow event focused on wellbeing, connection, and culture. The day provided a special pamper experience while also creating space for waahine to weave tukutuku panels that reflected whakapapa and identity. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about Maaori atua and the cultural significance behind traditional practices, strengthening both knowledge and whakawhanaungatanga

Let’s talk about flu vaccine safety. ✅

It’s normal to have questions! Here are the facts to help you make an informed choice for your health this winter:

🚫 The flu vaccine does not contain live influenza viruses and cannot cause influenza.
🌟 It has been used for many decades and has an excellent safety record.
🧠 If you do experience a reaction, it is usually mild, happens in the first few days, and is simply a sign of your immune system working.
💉 Keeping up to date with all your immunisations, including COVID-19 or whooping cough if due, gives you the best protection.

If you have questions, our team is always here to chat. We are open daily, Mon–Fri, 08:45–16:45. 🕒

📞 Book now: 0800 472 858
