Exciting news!

We currently have limited spaces available in each of our Te Kauwhata Scout Group sections and we’d love to welcome more young people into our Scouting whānau. If your child is keen for adventure, friendship, new skills, and a place to belong — Scouts could be their next big thing in 2026!

There’s absolutely no obligation to join, and all tamariki are welcome to give it a go.

New youth receive 4 free sessions to experience what we do before making any decisions — a chance to try the fun, meet new friends, and see if it feels like the right fit for them. Spaces are limited in each section, so get in quick!

We are also looking for awesome new volunteers to join our group. Whether you’re able to help as a leader or as a committee member, we would love to hear from you! It’s a rewarding way to support young people, strengthen community connections, and help keep our group thriving.

Welcome back to term 4... Can you believe it! How are we here already.

Scouts Night Recap 🧭

Tonight our Scouts learned about maps, compasses, and navigation — putting their skills to the test with an outdoor game and a fun round of Two Truths and a Lie!

We also chatted about plans for a few weekend sessions this term, as we’re focusing on camping under canvas and fundraising in our community.

Keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities to support our Scouts as they work towards Jamboree 2026/27 — it’s going to be an incredible journey!

Te Kauwhata Scout Group – End of Term Highlights

We are so proud of all our Keas, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders this term! 😍
Everyone has worked incredibly hard, and it’s been fantastic to celebrate their achievements with badges and certificates 🎉 A huge BRAVO to you all for your effort, teamwork and determination this term – you’ve earned it!

On top of that, we’re excited to share that our Group Leader, Alanah, was nominated by our Zone Leader and awarded the Bronze Tiki Award!

The Bronze Tiki Award is a national honour that recognises dedicated and outstanding service to Scouts Aotearoa. It’s a reflection not only of Alanah’s contribution but also of the amazing support from our whole Scouting whānau here in Te Kauwhata 🖤💛🖤💛

Here’s to another term of adventures, learning and fun together! ✨

🧣🌍 SCOUT SCARF DAY – AUGUST 1ST, 2025 🌍🧣

It’s time to proudly wear your Scout scarf — wherever you are!

Scarf Day is all about showing the world you’re part of the global Scouting movement. On August 1st, Scouts all over the world will wear their scarves to school, work, around town – anywhere and everywhere – as a symbol of unity, pride, and the Scout spirit!

What to do:
✔️ Wear your Scout scarf all day – no uniform required!
✔️ Take a selfie or group photo and share it with us!
✔️ Tell your friends why Scouting matters to you

Let’s flood the world with our colours and show that once a Scout, always a Scout!

We have three draft designs that we're considering and would really appreciate your thoughts. If you’d like to vote for your favourite, we’d love to hear from you!

Term 3 at Te Kauwhata Scout Group

We're kicking off Term 3 with a fresh new theme: “New Flavours” – and it’s going to be a tasty adventure from start to finish!

Our Keas, Cubs, and Scouts will be diving into all kinds of food-themed fun, including:

Blind taste testing
Cooking challenges
Making dinner for Dad (just in time for Father’s Day!).. and so much more!

This term is all about trying new things, developing confidence in the kitchen, and learning to work together as a team – with a big dash of fun, of course!

What Else to Expect?

Hands-on activities
New skills and leadership opportunities
Outdoor adventures (weather permitting)
Community service and connection
Heaps of laughs and learning!

💚 New members are always welcome – it’s never too late to join the fun. If your child is keen to try Keas, Cubs, or Scouts, or if you're an adult looking to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
