Thank you all for voting, and a big mihi to all Trustee candidates that were part of this election. We appreciate all nine remain to support the future endeavours our marae.

Shortly, you will receive notification of our Māori Land Court submission of appointed Trustees to help keep you all updated with our current status.

‘Get ready now’, is the message for Heretaunga Hastings residents as Cyclone Vaianu becomes increasingly likely to impact the region this weekend.
Current forecasts indicate the system will hit Hawke’s Bay around midday Sunday, April 12, bringing potentially life-threatening conditions.
The key risks are coastal swell and sea inundation of homes, destructive winds, torrential rain leading to flooding, and slips and falling trees.
Residents are strongly encouraged to assess their personal risk and make a plan now.

As outlined in the Newspaper article the
VENUE is 5 Long fellow Ave Maraenui
(Rōpu a iwi building)

Dependant on facilities we will do our best to host online for all those who are unable to attend

Sorry for the late notice as we didn’t capture any pics of the AWESOME night as we were either busy or just being in the moment

This was possible because of Aunt Mona & the Allison Whaanau her ongoing mahi, cooking & pushing us to make this event happen & memorable. 💛

As the Redevelopment Bills keep coming in for our Marae we will keep chipping away & continue with the Fundraisers

In the near future it’ll be awesome if anyone wants to Tautoko…. Holla our fundraising Queen Aunt Mona she will be happy to allocate you a duty 😁😉

As mentioned to you all from our last post about the unfortunate state of our current board, the Trust currently has FIVE (5) vacant positions to fill.

Please find the marae trustee candidate nomination form below.

Included within the form are key dates, method of submission, and all requirements needed prior to submission.

Closing date for candidates is the 23rd of March at 5pm, please submit your forms prior to the closing date.

REGARDING THMT TRUSTEES

On the 15th of January 2026 whilst at MLC
Jo was inforned that there was no records of the 2024 elected Trustees consent forms,, Minutes of election results & application of Trustees submitted to MLC

So to rectify this
We will start the whole process again
There will be a notice to follow

❗️CALL FOR 5 NOMINATIONS ❗️
The current whaanau in position will continue the mahi as discussed with MLC

Election results will be announced at the upcoming Te Hāroto Marae Trust AGM
