Fiordland Community House

📢 Did you know there are new voting enrolment rules for the 2026 General Election?

This year, you must be enrolled before midnight on 25 October 2026 to vote. Unlike previous elections, you can no longer enrol at a voting place on Election Day or during advance voting.

✅ Check your enrolment details now at vote.nz
✅ Update your address if you've moved
✅ Make sure you're ready to have your say

⚠️ And for Māori voters, today (6 August) is the last day to change between the Māori Roll and the General Roll if you're already enrolled. The deadline is midnight tonight.

We're also pleased to let our community know that Fiordland Community House will be one of the local voting places for the 2026 General Election.

Keep an eye on our page for more election information closer to voting time!

Soups on! 🍲

Don't spend this cold day hungry or alone. Drop in for a FREE bowl of soup & bread. Bring a friend! Everyone is welcome!

We'd also love your help! This is only running for one more month, so we wondered if anyone in our community would like to make a batch of soup to serve approximately 15-20 people. Please get in touch with me 💚

💚Community Pantry Project – Can You Help? 💚
We're exploring a new way to support our community and are looking for a small shed or weatherproof cabinet that could be donated and repurposed as a community pantry.
The idea is simple: a place outside our building where people can leave food to share and where others can take what they need, no questions asked. By having it outdoors, it provides a more private and respectful way for people to access support.
Unfortunately, our current pantry in the waiting room isn't getting much use, so we're looking at alternative ways to make food support more accessible to those who need it.

We're wondering:
✅ Does anyone have a small shed, cupboard, or similar structure they would be willing to donate?
✅ Is there a handy person or builder in our community who would like to help create something for us?

If you'd like to help, please comment below or send us a message. We'd love to hear from you. ❤️

What an awesome night it was last night with Clara from Manaaki Massage. She's a wealth of knowledge & we were so lucky to have her donate her time & energy!

The food was delicious & now we have a recipe for mince & beans that can be put in our food parcels.

We still have spots for our next event on Monday 3rd of August with Katherine Mitchell. Let me know if you would like to snab a spot!
