Our next FBA Lunch & Learn is designed especially for small and owner-operated businesses, even if it’s just the two of you.

Marleen Wilson from Tech Aid will share simple, practical ways to protect the parts of your business you rely on every day.

We’ll cover:

• what you should protect first
• whether your backups would actually save you
• whether cyber insurance is now worth considering
• what to do if something goes wrong

This won’t be an hour of technical IT talk or scary statistics. It’s a relaxed, practical session for small business owners and you don’t need to know anything about IT.

FBA committee members will be attending the lunchtime session on Monday, 31 August, from 12 noon to 1.30pm at the Fiordland Community Centre.

A second session will also be held from 5.30pm to 7pm.

We encourage our members to attend, learn more about the draft Community Spatial Plan and share your views on Te Anau’s future growth.

COMMUNITY SPATIAL PLAN - DROP-IN SESSIONS

Community spatial plans are the blueprints that will help to guide what your community looks like over the next 30 years and what needs to be done to get there.

We have developed a preferred scenario for your community, working together with your community board. We are holding drop-in sessions across Southland District, so come along and tell us what you think.

In developing this scenario, we considered community feedback gathered through previous engagement and consultation. We also considered information and feedback from several sources to understand if we have enough land and homes to accommodate future growth, including:

- insights from local people and local businesses via surveys and interviews
- infrastructure, natural hazards, housing market and economic data, and
- future population and demographic projections from Infometrics.

So come have a chat, we want to hear what you have to say.
