📢 Have your say

Tauranga City Council is seeking feedback on its dog and animal management policy and bylaw. This is a big opportunity for positive change for our local wildlife, and the survey takes less than 10 minutes to do.

Take positive action now: https://letstalk.tauranga.govt.nz/projects/dog-management-policy-and-bylaw-and-keeping-of-animals-bylaw-review

The following ticks will benefit our wildlife the most (and it's also what we asked for in our submission):

✅ Strongly support extending current seasonal dog restrictions in Shark Alley (August-January) to be year-round.

✅ Strongly support a dog ban in coastal dunes (except when they are on a leash using a beach accessway).

✅ Strongly do not support excluding cat provisions from the bylaw.

Remember your voice matters - our wildlife can't speak for itself 💙

The survey is open until 5pm, Thursday, 2 July 2026.
