Operators are the first line of defence when it comes to safety.

Daily safety checks help identify faults, damage, and potential hazards before a MEWP is operated. Taking a few minutes to inspect the machine before use is a simple step that helps protect operators, workplaces, and everyone around them.

Good maintenance is an investment in safety.
Routine checks by equipment owners help flag wear, damage, and potential faults early, before they become bigger issues. Keeping equipment in top condition supports safer operation, reliability, and better outcomes on site.

6-month inspections are an important part of ensuring MEWPs remain safe and compliant for continued operation.

Checks should include critical components such as wheel nuts, ensuring they are correctly torqued to manufacturer specifications.

Strong inspection practices, supported by industry programs such as the EWPA RI Program, help promote safer MEWP operation across the industry.

A thorough 6-month inspection involves checking more than what is visible at first glance.
Areas such as underneath the scissor deck extension should be inspected for rust, cracking, wear, damage, and other defects that can easily be missed during daily pre-start checks.
Regular inspections, combined with strong industry practices and programmes such as the EWPA RI Programme, help support safer and more reliable MEWP operation.
