🌟 WE’RE HIRING: GENERAL MANAGER (12 Hours p/w) 🌟

Are you a strategic leader with a heart for the Tauranga community? Under the Stars is looking for a part-time General Manager to join our team!

Our current GM has accepted an exciting opportunity, so we are recruiting again. He has offered to stay on through the end of 2026 to help our new GM settle in.

Our purpose is to increase access to kai for the homeless and those in need within a compassionate and judgment-free environment. We are looking for someone to help us stay sustainable and resilient so we can continue this vital work.

This is a high-impact, 12-hour-per-week position focused on:

Funding & Partnerships: Securing grants and building relationships with local sponsors.

Operational Oversight: Supporting our team to ensure our services run smoothly and effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement: Representing Under the Stars within the Bay of Plenty community.

You will also lead a key project with support from our Board: finding our next premises within the Council's 18-month notice period. We hope to keep Orange Sky, veterinary and medical services alongside us. This includes planning and securing funding for any future rent and necessary upgrades or fit-out.

We need a local leader (Bay of Plenty based) who can engage directly with our frontline services to truly understand our mission and the guests we support.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who's helped keep our guests warm this winter ♥️ Blankets, sleeping bags, socks, beanies, scarves, warm clothes -we've been able to give these out at every single service because of you!

Right now we're in desperate need of socks and un**es (new is ideal, but if you've got clean, good-condition pairs, we'll gladly take them) and paper bags.

Feeding our community is a collective effort, and tonight the collective gets stronger 🎉

We want to send the biggest tautoko (support) to Life Church Tauranga as they launch their very first fortnightly community meal tonight.
