BoPSAT

BoPSAT BoPSAT owns a fleet of small sailboats and windsurfers, and all necessary clothing and buoyancy aids.

BoPSAT’s aim is to give everyone under the age of eighteen in the Bay of Plenty, irrespective of disability or disadvantage, the opportunity to experience sailing and to develop pathways and strategies to engage them in the sport for a lifetime. Equipment ranges for learner and beginner boats and boards through to the lastest racing gear. We work with Bay of Plenty sailing clubs, schools and saili

ng families in Tauranga, Rotorua and the Eastern and Western Bay. We are able to dramatically lower the financial barriers to sailing by a) obtaining grants from funding bodies for equipment and instruction
b) levying low user charges for equipment use which cover maintenance and overheads only, and 3) applying any surplus to subsidising sailing for disadvantaged families and supporting sailors who are selected to represent NZ overseas.
