💫 Mockingbird turns 10! 💫

This year we are proud to celebrate 10 years of Mockingbird Charitable Trust.

What began as a vision to provide a haven for whānau in the neurodiverse community has not only endured, but truly thrived - grounded in whanaungatanga, aroha, and connection.

We are deeply grateful to our funders, supporters, donors, partner organisations, and wider community. Your belief in this kaupapa has helped make Mockingbird what it is today.

Most importantly, thank you to the whānau who have trusted us to walk alongside you - you are at the heart of everything we do.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our kaumātua, Ross Barker.
Ross passed peacefully at Waipuna Hospice, at 6am on Friday, 30th May.

Ross touched countless lives. His wisdom, kindness, and compassion reached far and wide, supporting and uplifting many families over the years. He was a deeply respected leader, a gentle soul, and a constant source of strength and guidance within our community.
As we carry on his legacy, we do so with gratitude for all he taught us. We know his spirit will continue to guide us in the work he so passionately believed in.
Our thoughts and aroha are with Carleen, Felix, and Mackie.

Ross’s life will be honoured and celebrated on Tuesday, 3rd June at 10am, at Charlemagne House, 2 Loop Road, Minden.

Moe mai rā e te Rangatira – rest peacefully, dear Ross. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
