Did you know Anamata has been here for the Taupō and Tūrangi communities for more than 30 years? We’re actually nearing 40 years.

As we look back on where it all started, we’re also working to keep our services strong for the years ahead. Some of our mahi isn’t fully funded, so we’re seeking a little extra support to stay sustainable.

We’re excited to share our refreshed Nui school clinic space. Revamping our new space after losing the nurse clinic in Baytrust in the fire wasn’t just a makeover or replacing what we lost, it was about restoring a special place where rangatahi feel safe and comfortable when accessing health care.

We didn’t do this alone, nothing beats community help to support our rangatahi. Let’s be honest: flatpacks and painting aren’t in the Anamata skill set (we know our limits) 😅 , so the support we received meant we could stick to the mahi we’re actually good at.

Thank you to Nui for letting us transform the new space, Taupō Bunnings for donating the paint and sending some of their team to be our painting crew, and Taupō Men’s Shed for building our furniture living their slogan perfectly: “Building community, one project at a time.”

With Term 3 underway, we can’t wait to see Nui rangatahi using the new space our community helped bring to life and all rangatahi across our other clinics too.
