Taupo Hospice Shop

Taupo Hospice Shop Two great Hospice Shops full of goods at unbeatable prices. Taupō and Tūrangi locations!

Lake Taupo and Turangi hospice shops are packed full of fantastic second hand quality goods such as clothing, small electrical appliances, kitchen and sports gear as well as books, art, toys games, puzzles and linen. We rely on the generosity of people donating quality goods and when they're sold it helps hospice maintain its 24/7 free-of-charge services to our patients and their families in the Taupo district. Volunteering at the shop is a wonderful opportunity to get work experience, meet new people and help hospice. Shifts are usually three hours and volunteers help sort and price donated goods, sell in sort or help with pick-ups and deliveries. Lake Taupo Hospice must fundraise at least $500,000 each year for its operating budget and the shop contributes a significant amount towards this.

We wanted to take a moment to explain why we check donations as they come in. We know it can sometimes be tricky to know what we can and can’t accept, so if you’re ever unsure about an item, we’re more than happy to have a look and help you out!

Checking donations helps us reduce the amount of waste we produce from items that unfortunately aren’t suitable for resale. It also means we can make the best use of every generous donation we receive.

Your quality donations make such a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for your ongoing support 💙
