To celebrate volunteers week, last night we took our team the Taupo Cosmopolitan Club. A big shout out to Mei and her team for awesome food and service. It was great to see our team of Volunteers come together and relax over good food.

Its National Volunteer Week, a chance to say thank you to our awesome Volunteers.

Our Volunteers are the face and voice of CAB Taupō and without them we would not be able to provide the service we do to the community.

Thank you team.

You can order a birth certificate through Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM):
📄Online
📄 By post
📄In person in Auckland, Manukau, Wellington, or Christchurch (by appointment only).

Because birth records are public, you can apply for yourself or for someone else eg, your child or a relative for researching your family history/whakapapa.
Cost:
📄 $33 for a standard certificate
📄 $35 for a decorative certificate

Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, or Prezzy card.

If you’re looking for older records, you can request a birth certificate through BDMonline for:
📄 people born at least 100 years ago
📄 people who died at least 50 years ago
📄 people born at least 80 years ago (if deceased)

If something you bought is faulty soon after you got it, you don’t have to just put up with it. You have the right to speak up and ask the business to fix it. 🔧
You deserve better. Check out the CAB Youth Tool Kete and be confident asking for better. 🗣

Every time we help someone, we make a note of what they needed and how we supported them. Over time, these stories and data give us a clearer picture of the real issues affecting our communities — and we use those insights to advocate for fairer laws, policies, and services that protect people’s rights and wellbeing 🤝✊🛠️⚔️

If you buy a gift card or voucher, it must clearly show the terms and conditions of its use, as well as its expiry date (if there is one). For gift cards or vouchers purchased from 16 March 2026, the minimum expiry date is three years.

Vouchers purchased before 16 March 2026 keep their original expiry date (if there is one). If there is no expiry date, this means the voucher should never expire.

It is a good idea to read the terms and conditions that come with your gift card or voucher and to use your gift card sooner rather than later. If the business closes or you lose your voucher, your rights to a refund are limited. If you lose a pre-loaded debit card, you may be able to get a replacement card, but you will need to check with the store. The business might charge you a fee for the replacement card.

For more information on your rights, visit: cab.org.nz/article/KB00000069
