Taupo Mountain Bike Club

Taupo Mountain Bike Club Our Vision: For Taupo to be ours and New Zealand's preferred all-season XC mountain bike destination.

TMTBC's Mission: is to promote, facilitate, encourage and develop Mountain Biking in the Taupo region
Founded in 1990 The Taupo Mountain Bike Club runs frequent events in Craters Mountain Bike Park located in the Wairakei Forest. We welcome members and non-members from all over NZ to our events. We have a Summer Series of 6 races commencing in February, a MTB Rogaine and May 2022, Craters Classic (currently run by our friends at Bike Taupo), The Gambler - a strategic MTB event for Solos and Teams in September and for the Youth, an event purely for them in December as part of the Mid North Island Junior Series. A large part of any profit made by the Club goes to Bike Taupo who are responsible for maintenance and development of MTB tracks in Wairakei Forest.

Want to learn to rip it like the juniors?

Coach Nigel Stent is back for another round of adult coaching sessions after last year's successful E Bike series. This time we're offering heavily subsidised coaching for adult accoustic riders. It will be $50 for 4 weeks of coaching, starting on Thursday October 15, and places are strictly limited!

You must be an intermediate + rider (comfortable on grade 3+ trails). Perfect for confident riders who want to learn to go faster on the descents, tackle harder features and get more out of their riding. You DO NOT have to be a racer.

Secure your place by emailing the club [email protected]
