The latest Infometrics Quarterly Economic Monitor for March 2026 is now available, providing a snapshot of how the Taupō District economy is tracking across key indicators including business activity, employment, tourism and consumer spending.
The latest data highlights encouraging signs across the district, including:
👉 GDP growth of 1.3%, higher than the national average of 0.4%
👉 The number of businesses growing 1.4%, to an annual average of 5,815 units
👉 Unemployment remaining unchanged at 4.5%, below the national average of 5.3%
