Volunteering with He Kahui Tangata Mentoring has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. When I signed up, I thought I was there simply to help a young person. What I didn’t realise was just how much they would help me too

The last few years have brought their share of challenges, loss and difficult moments, but no matter what was happening in my own life, I knew there was a young person counting on me to show up
Through every conversation, laugh, activity and adventure, these young people have helped heal little pieces of me and filled my cup more than they will ever know

To my mentee, her whānau, Shelley, the incredible people behind the scenes and all the rangatahi, tamariki involved with He Kahui Tangata, thank you. Thank you for trusting me, teaching me and reminding me of the power of simply showing up

Our very own Dash Anderson has been nominated for the Tremains Annual Volunteer Services Awards- Shining Star category 🥰

This award recognises 4+ years service, exceptional dedication and impact within our community🥳

Over the years Dash has mentored consistently week in and week out, being a safe and trusted adult for her mentee Lara. Dash has also volunteered hours of her time over numerous holiday programs. A natural when working alongside young people, someone with a huge heart and lots of patience 😍

Ka rawe Dash, we sure are very grateful to have you in our corner 😇
