Rachel Gibson – Mixed Media artist and Blossom Brunch organiser ❤️

Rachel’s fascination with nature, particularly leaves, coupled with the amazing geography and geology in our landscape provide primary inspiration. She likes her work to be colourful and happy, and chooses a number of mediums to achieve this.

Rachels auction piece has a base of inks, and is then layered with acrylic. Leaves from our Kinloch cherry trees provided reference for this piece.

Thank you Rachel - we really appreciate you 🌼

🌸 Our next wonderful artist supporting our Blossom Brunch fundraiser is Victoria J M Deaker, DFA, Grad Dip Painting 🌸

Victoria studied at Dunedin School of Art & majored in Printmaking & Photography, then completed a further qualification in Painting. Current preferred mediums are watercolour, acrylics, pen & ink plus pencil drawings & photography. Subject matter is inspired by the study of domestic arts & female roles in society, plus a fascination with deceased insects & birds; portraits & landscapes also feature.

The artwork for auction is a print of "Paperdolls for All". It is a photograph of a craft project printed on quality paper from Kinloch Print Studio, a local business run from home in Seven Oaks that also offers framing options.

Thank you Victoria 🌷🌷

🌷We are so grateful to the local artists supporting our Blossom Brunch🌷

First in the spotlight is Sue Thomson, a well known Abstract Impressionist Artist with her own studio here in Taupō. Sue exhibits locally and was recently a finalist in the Tasman National Art Awards. Her bold, colourful and distinctive artworks are often inspired by travel memories and her love of all things Italian - but for our Kinloch Kindergarten project, Sue has created this special blossom piece for auction.

🩷Email [email protected] and get your tickets for Blossom Brunch to bid on this delightful piece. Thank you so much Sue🩷
