Twelve from Police, FENZ, St John and the GreenLea Rescue Helicopter are aiming to walk the circumference of Lake Taupo in 40 hours. Members of the Taupo Emergency Services are uniting to raise money for Youth Mental Health. Mental health effects our youth sometimes in minor ways, sometimes with tragic results. Our emergency services are at the front line, spending a huge amount of their time with
our youth when they need them the most, helping to treat, helping to resolve, being there when it counts. We recognise the importance of early intervention and the importance of counselling services. OUR MISSION
to raise money for the treatment of the Mental Health in our youth. OUR AIM
For our team of 12 to walk the circumference of Lake Taupo, gaining fundraising prior to and throughout our journey. THE EX*****ON
At 4:00pm on Friday the 8th of November three members from each of Police, FENZ, St John and Greenlea Rescue Helicopter will leave from the Taupo Fire station heading anticlockwise around the great lake. The walk will be continuous for the participants, stopping only briefly to rest and eat, returning to finish at the Taupo Fire station around lunch time on Sunday the 10th. THE PURPOSE
To show our emergency services share the common purpose of supporting our youth, by working together to complete a 160km walk in an estimated 40 hours without sleep, an extremely tough physical and mental challenge while raising funds for a great cause. THE FUNDRAISING
We are asking you show your support for your emergency services by a donation to the Taupo Emergency Services Lake Challenge Give a Little page. All proceeds will go to the charity I am Hope, founded by Mike King. I am Hope provides free counselling by qualified professionals to those youth in need. Mental Health is a community issue which requires a community approach, your donation will directly support the youth of our community. https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/members-of-the-taupo-emergency-services
