A great competition this weekend at the 2026 Pact Packaging Young Butcher and ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice of the year Regional in Auckland. What a talented group of young and apprentice butchers.

Going through to the Grand Final on Thursday 13th August 2026 we have Matthew Hiroti from PAKnSAVE Ormiston and Chloe Steel from De Bauchery who both won the Pact Packaging Young Butcher Regional and the winner of the ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice goes to Mya Wilson Hiraka from New World Mangawhai.

Mathew Hiroti took home the prize for the best use of Rum and Que on a product with his Beef Truffles as well as Shane Mayo with his Lamb Shank.

Going through to the Grand Final on Thursday 13th August 2026 is Adrianna Te Aonui the winner of the Pact Packaging Young Butcher Regional from PAKnSAVE Te Awamutu and ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice Winner Cody Burbery from PAKnSAVE Te Awamutu.

Tyton Bowring took home the prize for the best use of Rum and Que on a product with his Beef Kebab.

This is a hands-on, commercially sharp role where success is defined by results. You’ll own category performance end-to-end, strengthening supplier accountability, improving promotional effectiveness, and ensuring our strategies land in-store.

You’ll bring a strong performance lens, using data, insight and commercial judgement to identify gaps, take action, and drive better outcomes - at pace.

A great competition today at the 2026 Pact Packaging Young Butcher and ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice of the year Regional in Christchurch! What a talented group of young and apprentice butchers.

Going through to the Grand Final on Thursday 13th August 2026 is the winner of the Pact Packaging Young Butcher Regional Blair Wright from Peter Timbs Meats Ltd, who also took home the prize for the best use of Rum and Que on a product.

The ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice Winner was Ashley Maguire from Peter Timbs Meats Ltd, and the Bruce Wing Memorial Trophy went to Tyrone Matehe from New World Ravenswood.
