Sports Chaplaincy New Zealand

Sports Chaplaincy New Zealand Serving New Zealand's sporting community through providing pastoral care and mentoring. To donate to SCNZ visit sportschaplaincy.co.nz/funding-donations

Sports Chaplains love sport and love people. We are trained and experienced in helping sportspeople at all levels, as well as coaches, administrators, officials, and their families in the unique and crazy challenges that sport, and life in general, can throw at you. We're not coaches, not psyches or professional counsellors, but neutral caring friends who want to walk the journey with you through the triumphs, trials and the tragedies, from the beginning, during and after your sports career. Some of the things we can help you with are encouragement, mentoring, stress management and relationship skills. We will support you through injury, non-selection, grief, retirement and beyond. As Christian pastoral care givers our clear focus is to provide the very best care for sports people. We serve people of all faiths, and those of no faith or religious background. We will always respect your own personal beliefs. We would love to hook you up with a Sports Chaplain, so please message us and we'll see how we can help.

“My trust in God flows out of the experience of his loving me, day in and day out, whether the day is stormy or fair, whether I'm sick or in good health, whether I'm in a state of grace or disgrace. He comes to me where I live and loves me as I am.” - Brennan Manning

Keeping the main thing, the main thing. We believe that being present is key to building relationships, gaining trust, and earning respect.

Having a Sports Chaplain present in your club means you have a reliable person who is there to support and care for your community. ✅🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

🤸‍♀️ Photos from Monday with warm-up done at the XP Gymnastics Nationals at Mercury Baypark in Tauranga!

It was the first day on deck for our new Waikato & BOP Regional Leaders, Clint and Jo Reha, who joined the Sports Chaplaincy team serving the gymnastics community.

Our Sports Chaplain team on Monday included Jesse Willis, Ben Willis, Sharon Hollander, Clint and Jo Reha, and Matt Hawkins. 🙌

With the school holidays underway this week, why not pop down to Mercury Baypark, check out the action, and come say hi to the team!

🤸‍♂️ We’d love to see you!
