While visiting Bhumlutar in December Manu made a fantastic instructional video (watch it through the link below) showing the step-by-step procedure for building the BioSand Filters.
This is an incredible resource for our team on the ground, for the villagers and anyone needing affordable clean drinking water. Many thanks Manu and Alexis for your insight and instruction!

Namaste friends of GB Friends of Nepal
Wishing you all a healthy start to 2026! We were honoured to host Alexis and Manu from Golden Bay as volunteers in Nepal in December.

During their 10 days in Bhumlutar they brought incredible skills, fresh ideas and resourceful thinking running a hands on workshop teaching the village how to build BioSand water filters from 20 litre buckets for safe drinking water.

It is wonderful to see Alexis dream of coming to Nepal with his son Manu become reality .

Thank you for sharing your gifts with Bhumlutar village.

Namaste everyone and huge thanks to the greater Wanaka community for coming out to our GB Friends of Nepal movie fundraiser evening last Thursday. Turnout was great, the donated homemade treats were delicious, the raffle generated huge interest and the generosity was amazing! We raised a total of $3,197 on the night to support our ongoing projects like smokeless stoves, menstrual pads, turkeys, school supplies, bed frames and teacher salaries. As always, 100% of every donation goes directly to Nepal. Huge thanks to our raffle donors (Mitre 10, Dr Dog, The Gleam Team, The Secret Sauna, Ashraf's Kashmiri Restaurant and Dr Bas/Civil Solutionz). Turkeys will be distributed soon and we'll send around some photos. Thank you again (dheri dhanyabad) for your incredible support and generosity for the people of Nepal! 🙏

If you couldn't make it to the fundraiser, but would like to make a donation, attached is the QR code to our GiveALittle donation page.
