Authentic Movement Retreat | 8–11 October 2026

What happens when we pause, close our eyes, listen deeply, and allow the body to move from within? 🌿

Join E. Connor Kelly for a 3-night Authentic Movement Retreat at Te Moata — an exploration of the relationship between mover and witness, inner listening, presence and embodied expression.

Through movement, witnessing and quiet reflection, we are invited to deepen our connection with ourselves, our bodies and the wisdom that arises when we create space to simply be.

✨ Thursday 8 October – Sunday 11 October
🌿 Te Moata Retreat Centre, Coromandel

We're looking for new Trustees
The Te Moata Charitable Trust is looking for one or two new Trustees, with some of our current Trustees looking to retire in the next few months.

The Trust is run by a group of volunteers. We share a deep love for Te Moata and care deeply about its future. We meet monthly online, and one of the highlights is our annual hui at Te Moata.

We may be looking for you…!
Are you enthusiastic, reliable and share our love for Te Moata? Do you care about Te Moata's future and would love to help prepare for it? Do you see the bigger picture, have administrative and financial literacy skills and some previous Board experience?

If your answer to these questions is "yes", please read on – we may be looking for you!

Skills we'd love to hear about
We would love to hear from you if you have skills and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

HR
Communication
Marketing
Fundraising
Strategic planning
Conservation work
While it would be great if you have Board experience, we would also love to hear from you if you have some of the above skills without previous Board experience.

If you think "this could be me", or if you would like more information, please get in touch with Anke.

Te Moata invites all meditators to an Online fund raiser for Kalyānamitta Dharma Collective a group of meditators. Gil has kindly offered for all proceeds to go towards funding KDC’s 2027 six-week retreat.

Kalyāna Meets: Gil Fronsdal

"One of the things that kills Buddhist life is excessive seriousness" - Gil Fronsdal

Kalyāna, Thriving, and Wholeness on the Buddhist Path to Freedom

Hidden in the open are the Buddha’s important teaching on inner beauty, abundance, and wholeness, all in the service of our profound capacity for liberation and awakening. Inspired by the mission of the Kalyānamitta Dharma Collective and the friendships of its founding members, Gil will talk and answer questions on inspiring teachings of the Buddha connected to the mission of the collective.

About Gil

We are tremendously lucky to be hosting Gil Fronsdal for the second instalment of the Kalyāna Meets series. Gil is among the most respected teachers in the west today. His teaching, writing and scholarship draws on 50 years of practice in the traditions of Sōtō Zen and Insight Meditation, as well as a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies from Stanford. We are particularly inspired by his emphasis on the role of kalyāna, which he translates as ‘the beautiful’, on the path to liberation and peace.

Event details

This half-day event will include dharma reflections, guided meditation and a question and response session. No prior meditation experience is required: the event is appropriate for both beginners as well as experienced meditators.

Cost

All of KDC’s events and retreats are freely given, meaning there is no fee to attend. If you do feel moved to make a contribution, Gil has kindly offered for all proceeds to go towards funding KDC’s 2027 six-week retreat. Information about that event, here.
