Stratford Pipe Band, New Zealand Stratford Pipe Band is a part of the Stratford & Districts Scottish Society. The band meets 7.00pm Thursday evening at the Skinner Hall, Flint Road.

It's been a while since I last posted here, but that doesn't mean we haven't been active 😊
We have been busy settling into our new venue at the Skinner Hall at the Stratford Show grounds on Flint Road.
Members have attended in private capacity or representing the band and piped at funerals .
A member has recently spoken at Norfolk School's assembly and explained and demonstrated the workings of the bagpipes and practice chanter .
Members who were able to, enjoyed an evening at the at the Scottish Society Hinemoa Lodge to celebrate Burn's Night, where they played to entertain and our Pipe Major piped in the Haggis 😊

Important notice let you know that our band at present is meeting at the Skinner Hall at the Show Grounds on Flint road. We have been looking to find a new home from the start of the year due to the owner of the Mary Alice Chapel Hall having other plans for the building.

As usual, ANZAC has kept us very busy. The day before, one of our members helped Matapu preschool commemorate ANZAC by piping for them.
ANZAC Day itself found the band split between Dawn Parades in Opunake, Inglewood and Stratford. Following those parades, members were also involved in parades in Eltham, Kaponga and Rawhitiroa, as well as the lone piper at the Eltham Cemetery, and another member piping at the ceremony at a retirement village in Bell Block.
Our thoughts are with all around our beautiful country who joined in acknowledging the past and with hopes for a peaceful future.❤️

March 28th: Many thanks to Ron and Judy Coleman for taking amazing photos of The Relay for Life held in Inglewood and for sending us photos of our Stratford Pipe Band.
It was a pleasure along with members of the New Plymouth Caledonian Pipe Band, to support this special event.
