Starting today whānau and every Mondays...

Starting Monday 14th August we will be blessed by an amazing HIP ( Health Improvement Practitioner ) from Te Awakairangi Health Network. If you would like to come in to Te Whare kahukura and kōrero with the fabulous Rachel, they will be here from 8.30am.

This is for all our Takatāpui, LGBTQIA+, MVPFAFF or questioning community and their whānau.

PLEASE NOTE: To be seen by Rachel you must be registered in a GP practice in the Hutt Valley, aside from Ropata Medical and Soma Medical, they can help you directly.

However if you are not currently registered to a GP practice and you would like some guidance on how to register, please pop in for a kōrero.

We need society-wide solutions for society-wide issues like food inequity 🙌

"When I talk about the cost of living crisis, it’s perhaps more accurate to talk about it as a feature of the ongoing inequality crisis, in which low-waged people continue to bear the bulk of the burden. So, while suggesting tinned beans for dinner might seem solely helpful in an immediate sense, it also runs the risk of normalising a world where many struggle to afford the basics...
It’s an approach that presents the cost of living crisis as a symptom of personal dietary decisions rather than an outcome of political decisions.
Naturally, that focus also sees the potential solutions land in the realm of individual choice rather than the far more useful approach: collective action."

People are tired of being served budget eats and thrifty supermarket alternatives. And for good reason.
