Sawyers Bay Playcentre A family-orientated early childhood centre, primarily run by the parents that attend. Ages 0-6 and their parents/grandparents/family/caregivers welcome.

We are community based and love spend time with you and your children, helping you grow together.

From today, the centre will be used by Sawyers bay school in the afternoons for their after school programme. During this time the playground will be closed through from after school to 5.30pm on all weekdays during term time. Outside of these hours the community can continue to make use of the space but please ensure you are respectful of the equipment and use the rubbish bins provided for any rubbish.

Thank you all again for the support of our centre and as previously mentioned please feel free to come join our sessions at St Leonards Playcentre on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Sawyers bay playcentre is closing as was previously mentioned late in 2025. The good news is that we are transferring all of our current enrollments to St Leonards Playcentre which will be open from next week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9.30-12.30. You will still notice some activity in the playcentre building as Sawyers bay school makes use of the space. We want to acknowledge all the past members of SBPC and the contributions that you have made to keep this centre running for so long. For now it is farewell and we look forward to welcoming everyone to St Leonards playcentre next week.

Public consultation meeting - next Monday 3rd November at 7pm - we will be holding a public meeting next Monday evening to discuss a proposal for the merging and relocation of our Sawyers Bay Playcentre to the St Leonards Playcentre. I know this will be sad for some members of our community who have ties to our centre. Unfortunately both of our centre's have been struggling to remain viable and we want to try to ensure we still have a facility that can thrive and service our west harbour community. Term 4 already where has this year gone? We are open today from 9-12 so if you and your little ones are looking for something to do come along for a play. We have had to make the hard decision to close the centre on Wed and Thurs this term due to lower numbers but if you are interested in what we do please don't hesitate to get in touch we work closely with St leonards playcentre which is open on Monday and Friday mornings. We welcome everyone in the west harbour community and anyone from further afield that wants to come play. Playcentre has had some changes and there is much more focus on you playing with your little ones without any extra admin for us as parents which is great! Hopefully see some of you at one of our centre's soon ❤️❤️❤️
