We had a marvelous social get together yesterday at the Two Waters Cafe. Wonderful food and great company.
The Lions Club of Ruawai have a break in January when we recharge our batteries for the year ahead. Events that are being held in Ruawai but not necessarily run by Lions Club of Ruawai - Festival 26, ANZAC Commemorations in April, Breast Cancer Foundation - Pink Ribbon Event in May, Fun Run Walk Cycle event plus this year's Christmas Celebrations to name just a few. Also our monthly dinner meetings when you can all come along. We generally have a guest speaker who let's us know the important work that they do. We certainly have a lot of fun being members of our local Lion's Club. We are open for new members. If you want some information about Lion's and the fantastic work we do then send us a message on the attached link.

If you have an old pair of glasses either normal or sunglasses as well as glass cases.
. Let your old pair of glasses change someone else’s life ..

Across New Zealand, Lions Clubs collect thousands of used eyeglasses each year. These glasses are cleaned, graded, and sent to Pacific communities where access to vision care is limited or unaffordable.
.. Who do they help? ...

- Children struggling to learn at school because they can’t see the board

- Adults whose vision challenges limit their ability to work

- Seniors who have lived years with blurry vision simply because glasses are out of reach

- Remote and underserved communities across the Pacific and beyond
. Your old glasses don’t belong in a drawer — they can restore independence, improve education, and open doors.
