At our recent art exhibition at The Arts Village we held a silent auction for a stunning mosaic taniwha created by a group of artists at St Chads. Thank you to everyone who put in a bid! The winner of the auction was Hon Todd McClay. Todd was treated to a great welcome by our tāngata whaikaha to receive the artpiece and we look forward to pics of it on display in his office. The funds will be used for resources so our artists can keep on creating!

You’re invited to the opening our annual art exhibition at The Arts Village this Friday 14 August at 5pm.

This year’s theme is an explosion of colour and experimentation, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We’ll also have some amazing monoprints for sales. The exhibition runs through 4 September. See you there!

Switched On To Solar

Rotorua’s St Chads Life Skills Hub will very soon be switched onto solar power with thanks to a grant from Meridian Energy Decarbonisation Fund.
ZEN Energy NZ https://www.zenenergy.co.nz/ installed the system and now we are looking forward to seeing lighter power bills!
Last month we used over 3% less power than the same time last year but our bill was over 9% more expensive.
The best position for the solar panels turns out to be on our hall that was originally built as a church one hundred years ago! A great example of the idiom 'where old meets new'.
