Well done to the staff of Dawson Insurance in Rotorua. They have gifted 144 cans of food to Rotary pass on to food banks.

Our club members were out supporting the local blood bank this week. By keeping the donor heroes fuelled with a cup of tea and a bickie, we let the medical experts focus on the critical job of extracting life-saving blood.

This week, the Rotary Club of Rotorua went behind the scenes at Patchell Industries.

“I visited a class this morning for another reason and happened upon this. The class were doing a weekly reflection writing lesson and they were all using their new dictionaries to support themselves.”

Members of the Rotary Club of Rotorua have delivered dictionaries to Westbrook School. Here is a message from Deputy Principal Angela Donlon:

“On behalf of the students, staff, and the wider community at Westbrook School, I am writing to express our sincere gratitude for your incredibly generous donation of 80 dictionaries and 2 thesauruses today.

“We were absolutely delighted to welcome the members of Rotorua Rotary into our school. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, and we are very much looking forward to building a positive, ongoing working relationship with your club.

“These resources will be placed directly into the hands of our Year 4 team, who are eager to integrate them into their daily learning. Developing strong dictionary skills is a vital milestone and a key learning goal within our Year 4–6 curriculum. Having access to these high-quality, physical books will be an invaluable tool for boosting our students' literacy, vocabulary, and independent learning habits.

“Your incredible commitment to donating 80 dictionaries annually is a monumental support system for our students, our teaching staff, and our wider school community. Contributions like yours truly enrich our educational environment and give our tamariki the tools they need to thrive.
