Heading back to work today? Now is a good time to think of an emergency plan for your workplace:

✅ Identify Risks: What natural hazards, health issues or utility failures could affect your workplace?

✅ Make a Plan: Include evacuation, assembly points, fire/earthquake/tsunami procedures, and who to contact in an emergency.

👥 Look After Your Staff: Involve them in planning, support disabled employees and visitors, and encourage them to create personal safety plans.

🥤 Provide Supplies: Store at least 3 days' worth of water, food, masks, gloves, and first aid for everyone on-site - including guests.

🤝 Build Relationships: Connect with local business groups and neighbours, so that you can help each other during an emergency

🔄 Create Contingency Plans: Prepare for disruptions, back up your data, and test your backups regularly.

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home. Being burgled can leave people feeling vulnerable and it can have devastating financial and emotional impacts.

Although burglary rates have been trending down over the past few years, burglary remains one of the crimes people are most likely to experience.

Most burglaries happen between 10am – 3pm, when people tend to be out. There are three important things that you can focus on to protect your home and property:

- Locks
- Lights
- Lines of sight

Follow this link for advice on how to protect your home.

The majority of car thefts and break-ins happen in broad daylight. Vehicles are 86% more likely to be broken into or stolen during the afternoon.

Vehicles are often targeted when valuables (such as handbags, laptops, or wallets) are visible inside. Most thefts are opportunistic so you can help protect your vehicle by:

- locking it
- removing it
- parking in a visible location
