💛 Ngā mihi nui, Whangaparāoa College

A huge thank you to Whangaparāoa College for hosting our latest Youth Hauora Network hui and for creating space for our community to come together and hear directly from rangatahi.

The focus of the morning was the cost of living and the impact it is having on young people across our Coast. Through a powerful youth voice video and honest conversations, we heard about the pressures many rangatahi are experiencing and the challenges they are seeing at home, school, and in everyday life.

One thing was clear: young people are noticing more than we often realise.

Thank you to everyone who came along, listened deeply, and contributed to the kōrero. Together, we're building a stronger understanding of what our rangatahi need to thrive.

Our YHN hui this Thursday at Whangaparāoa College is the PERFECT one to invite people along to.

Know someone doing awesome mahi with rangatahi who isn’t connected into the network yet? Bring them along!

💛 If you bring someone new, BOTH of you receive a chocolate bar 🍫

The more connected we are as organisations, schools, clubs, and community spaces, the better we can support youth wellbeing across the Coast.

Our next Youth Hauora Network hui is all about hearing directly from rangatahi 💛

This *Wānanga Rangatahi* hui will create space for young people from Whangaparāoa College to share what they’re experiencing, what challenges are impacting them, and what support they need from the adults and communities around them.

This is going to be a really powerful morning of listening, learning, and reflecting together as a network.

If you work with young people in any way - youth workers, mentors, pastoral staff, teachers, support workers, community leaders - we would absolutely love to see you there 🌿

🌿 Still reflecting on the awesome energy from our last Youth Hauora Network hui at Future Whangaparāoa 💛

There was so much honest kōrero, connection, and collaboration happening across the room as organisations came together to share:
🌱 What’s going well
⚠️ What challenges they’re seeing for rangatahi
🤝 Where more support is needed
💡 Opportunities to work together more closely

One of the best parts? Watching people connect with organisations they hadn’t met before and realising just how much incredible mahi is happening across our Coast.

Huge thank you again to Sandra and the team at Future Whangaparāoa for hosting us in your beautiful new community space - we loved being there 🌿

From honest kōrero and shared challenges, to collaboration ideas and new connections - there was so much openness and support in the room at Future Whangaparāoa.

You are absolute champions in our community, and we are so lucky to have spaces like yours supporting our rangatahi.

W***y had the privilege of attending the 20th Anniversary Supporters Breakfast this morning and heard some truly empowering stories and beautiful reflections on the impact C*C has had over the years.

🌊 Massive shout out to the incredible team at Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club 💛

We absolutely love having the club as part of the HBC Youth Hauora Network and wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing mahi they do for our community and rangatahi.

Surf Life Saving is so much more than patrolling the beach - it creates opportunities for young people to build confidence, leadership, resilience, teamwork, and lifelong friendships, all while learning practical lifesaving skills and giving back to the community.

The club provides such a positive, supportive environment for rangatahi to connect, grow, challenge themselves, and feel part of something bigger 🌿

Ngā mihi nui to everyone involved at Ōrewa Surf Life Saving Club for the aroha and energy you pour into supporting young people across the Coast.

🌿 Huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our latest Youth Hauora Network hui at the brand new Future Whangaparāoa Hub 💛

We absolutely loved gathering in this beautiful new community space and want to give a massive mihi to Sandra and the team at Future Whangaparāoa for hosting us so warmly.

This hui was all about *Whakawhanaungatanga* - connection, collaboration, and strengthening relationships across the Coast.

There was such awesome energy in the room as organisations shared:
🌱 What they’re proud of
🤝 What support they need
💛 The mahi they want the community to know about

One of the coolest things was seeing new connections forming right across the room 🙌
