We're in "TECH WEEK" for Hadestown - meaning all of the lights and sound are being installed and plotted for the show, alongside the set, props and costume before we head into dress rehearsals in the lead up to opening the season! This National Volunteer Week we're celebrating the wonderful volunteers who help make Te Raukura tick! We have a wonderful team of engaged volunteers who help from backstage to front of house, both students and non-students alike! After a sell-out concert in May, Kapiti Concert Orchestra are back, this time with KCO Presents Brahms Violin Concerto, Variations on a Theme by Haydn 🎶
Join KCO, conductor Martin Riseley, and soloist Yuka Eguchi, and be swept from masterful variations to the serenity of Mendelssohn’s calm seas and the full force of Brahms’ magnificent Violin Concerto – with Craig Drummond-Nairn’s New Zealand storm rolling in between.

📣 Theatre announcement! Te Rākau Hua O Te Wao Tapu Trust presents Waenga.
Centred on a young wahine Māori who is arrested and finds herself in a police holding cell. Alongside her journey is Peyton, who is coming to understand what a Tangata Tiriti partnership is and Grayson, a young Māori lawyer navigating his role in the system.

Created by Hariata and Tamati Moriarty, Directed by Jim Moriarty.
Performed by an ensemble cast, this play is presented in Te Rākau’s unique Theatre Marae framework, creating space for collective reflection and shared experience.
