It's been a busy April for our pony club! 🐴

We had a few riders make it to the final 'official' Horowhenua Pony Club gymkhana held over the Easter weekend. It was a great day with perfect weather - huge thanks to Otaki Pony Club for running it and Waikanae Pony Club for hosting it 😊

We've had 4 riders pass certificates this month. Well done to Tammy for gaining her C+, Hazel for gaining her full C, Aroha for gaining her C HM, and Bina for gaining her D. We've got a few more riders aiming to sit theirs over the next few months πŸ†

Last weekend was the Central Districts Eventing. Well done to Zoe riding Daisy for your 6th placing in the 80cm!πŸ…

As summer winds down on the Kāpiti Coast, our seasonal fishing and horse beach zones have now wrapped up for the year. Ngā mihi to everyone who helped keep our beaches safe and enjoyable for all over the sunny months πŸ’™

If you're riding horses along the beach, please continue to do so safely below the high-tide mark, and away from ecological areas like dunes and estuaries. Using surfcasters, kontiki, kite, drone or other longline fishing gear? Please make sure your equipment is always monitored and clearly visible to other beach users.

Summer dog zones stay in place until the end of daylight saving, so keep those seasonal rules in mind when heading out to the beach with your four-legged mates.
