🌿 Kura Planting Day in Canvastown with Ngā Toki Kaiahuone 🌿

Last week, tamariki from Canvastown School and Queen Charlotte College put in some serious mahi along the banks of Te Hoiere awa. From digging to planting, they learned firsthand what kaitiakitanga means through their hard work and dedication to restoration.

Ngā Toki Kaiahuone supported this kaupapa by preparing the site, carefully selecting native plants, and working alongside the tamariki to bring new life to the awa. This day was part of the broader Te Hoiere Project, a long-term initiative focused on revitalising the Te Hoiere catchment, skillfully coordinated by Sarah Huntley, Te Hoiere Centre Manager and Education Services lead.— in Canvastown, New Zealand.

A huge thank you to Meaters of Marlborough Ltd who donated the delicious kai to fuel our mahi!
