Working with locals, hunters and a PhD Student with the aim to educate and maintain a sustainable white-tailed deer herd in the Wakatipu area near Glenorchy in New Zealand. The purpose of this page was originally set up to support research however with the formation in 2017 of the Wakatipu WhiteTail Deer group, this group have taken over the admin of the page to enable Kaylyn the PhD student to co

ncentrate on her research instead. The aim is to make the Wakatipu white-tailed deer herd designated as ‘of special interest’ and sustainably managed to improve herd health and performance for the continuation and improvement of New Zealand hunting resources.
