🎊✨ Queenstown Multicultural Festival 2026 ✨🎊

What an amazing day!

We were so proud to be part of this event. It was wonderful to see so many visitors, and it truly became a joyful and memorable day. Thank you very much to everyone who came along.

The origami club’s high-quality creations and creative displays were outstanding. The kids’ fun games, including yo-yo fishing and shuriken throwing, were very popular, and the massage booth was a lovely touch for tired parents. The Kombi photo booth was also a big hit, with lots of happy memories captured throughout the day.

Wasabi’s singing continues to impress with their beautiful harmonies. The highlight was the Mikoshi parade followed by Tokyo Ondo Dance. With the sound of Frangipani’s ukulele, it became a moment where the whole venue came together as one.

In Japan, opportunities for community Mikoshi are becoming fewer due to the declining birth rate. That’s why it was especially moving to see children here in Queenstown wearing happi coats, yukata, and kimono, carrying the Mikoshi and calling out “Wasshoi!” as they paraded through the venue.

We are truly grateful to the Queenstown Multicultural Festival team for this wonderful opportunity, and to all the volunteers and supporters who made this event possible.

We hope to continue sharing and passing on Japanese culture together with the wonderful multicultural community here in Queenstown.
