Otago Anniversary weekend saw our Scouts head into the Routeburn.
This trip has become a well-loved feature of our annual calendar, and this year was extra special, as our new Venturers and oldest Scouts went all the way across for the first time.

While our smallest Scouts visited Routeburn Falls, and our middle group explored the North Routeburn, our intrepid oldest group climbed over Harris Saddle, stayed an extra night, and came out at the Divide.

This 2 night trip was also our first Chief Scout Rimu Award Adventurous Journey - Congratulations Lucas!

Term 4 so far at Queenstown Scouts:
* Kupe the Explorer - great team building, decision making, and fun
* Tent repairs and maintenance - more excellent team work and skills for life
* Jamboree information evening - everyone is excited already, roll on December 2026!
* Fire lighting and cooking 2 minute noodles - taking advantage of our amazing outdoor surroundings.
* Badge presentations - congratulations to our new Bronze Scouts, we hope the badges encourage everyone else to challenge themselves!

🌟 CALLING ALL ADVENTUROUS GIRLS! 🌟
Do you have an active daughter, aged 8-9.5 years old, who loves exploring the world? We have a few spots available for girls to join Cubs this term!
🏕️ Camping • Bushcraft • Games • Adventures
We aim to keep our group at least 1/3 girls (so that everyone enjoys being there), and we normally have a long waitlist - but right now we have openings specifically for girls! (Sorry boys, you're welcome to jump on the waitlist though, and we'll let you know when we have spots.)

📅 Tuesday nights, 6-7:30pm
💰 First 4 weeks FREE, then $130/term
👧 Ages 8-9.5 years only (Cubs is 8-11, but these are our current openings)

The fruits of our efforts!
Thanks to everyone who has supported our ice cream and cheese roll truck this winter, we managed to take 11 members of our troop on a 7 day road trip up the West Coast all the way to Hanmer Springs and back!
We had torrential rain, gorgeous sunshine, gale winds and freezing frosts, and these amazing kids powered through all of it with smiles on their faces 😀
Watch out this summer for where our truck will be as we launch into fundraising for Jamboree 2026. 🏕
