After a brief hiatus we’re back and ready to finish the year strong! 💪🏽
It’s been surreal building and operating from our very own shed this year and we can’t wait to reach our full potential at Women’s Shed Aotearoa!
The rest of the year looks like this 👀
🛠️ Design & Build - we’re finally running the first of its kind! Take your ideas and bring them to life. We’ll cover the full design process, sketching your idea into a well thought out plan, calculating dimensions & determining suitable build materials before a class excursion to the hardware store and finally bringing your design to life.
🛠️ Van workshops are finally coming! - Have you got a van you want to renovate ready for the ultimate summer adventure? We’ve got you covered…
🛠️ Gender Inclusive Workshops - We are an inclusive space and we will be offering the odd workshop where all genders can get involved. We believe the skills we teach are necessary life skills and there should be no barriers to anyone who wants to learn!
🛠️ Date Night 🫶🏽 - This one’s for the lovers! What’s better than creating something with your own two hands? Creating something together with your favourite person! Bring your better half, your other half or the person you’re trying to impress!
🛠️ Community Projects - We’ve got a couple of community projects in the works which we would love to have your help with! More info to come
🛠️ Fundraisers - We’re going to be recruiting our army of mana wahine to help us build planterboxes and other cool projects to sell and help fund what’s in store for next year!
🛠️ Cabin Build Fundraiser - This one’s been in the works for a little while. We’re stoked to be partnering with on their sustainable carpenter program and bring something special to life while helping reduce the amount of construction waste that goes to landfill 🫱🏽🫲🏾
🛠️ Rangatahi workshops - The youth are our future and we’re investing into a pathway into trades for our young women to explore an interest in pursuing a career as a tradie, because we need more wahine in the trades! 🙋🏽♀️
2026 has been a big year & it’s about to get even bigger!
