Kia ora - IMPORTANT UPDATE :-)

Last Day - Sunday, 29th March
We had an awesome summer swimming season at the Pungarehu Pools, but with the days getting shorter and our volunteers getting tired, the committee has decided that Sunday 29th March will be our last day for the season. Enjoy the pool for one more week. The wind has dropped, the sun's out and the water is still warm (as in refreshing-warm) so make the most of it.

Return keys
You can return your pool season key (and any keys from previous seasons that you still have sitting around) to the letterbox at 6339 South Road, Pungarehu (Pennington Consultancy). Thank you!

Volunteer next summer
We really need more people to step up and help out next summer at the pools for the regular maintenance. This has mostly been done by two people with support from their families and that's not sustainable. Get in touch and get involved.

Kia ora, yes, the pools are still open! Freshly vacuumed this morning, looking awesome. A few people have asked how long we will stay open. If the weather stays like it is, we might keep going until the end of the month. It all depends a bit on our energy levels. The main message is: keep swimming and we will keep doing the background mahi.

Kia ora - the pool is freshly vacuumed and looking awesome. With some sunny and warm weather over the next few days, we can all enjoy our community taonga before the kids go back to school. Water temperature was sitting at 22.2 degrees this morning but is sure to increase over coming days. The pools are open every day for key holders - 11am to 8pm. Enjoy!

And a big shout out to Bruce for sorting out the vacum gauge and all the fixes you do around the pool, AWESOME mahi!

Kia ora - the pools are OPEN from 11am TODAY (Wednesday, 31st December). We are super stoked. Yay! If you need a key, come to the pool at 11am today. After that, Nigel will managing key sales so contact him through the FB page or txt him to arrange to meet at the pool. From the 5th January, keys will be back at the Rahotu Service Station. $60 for a family season key - everything in life is more expensive but paying for a Pungarehu pool keys is like stepping back in time ;-) With the strong wind in recent days, we have a lot of leaves in the pool, so it doesn't look quite as pristine as in the photos from a few days ago. But they are just leaves and will be scooped and vacuumed up - it just takes a bit of time. There is a stunning surprise waiting for you at the bottom of the steps. Catch up soon!

Kia ora - the pool is now filling slowly and it's looking great! As long as the pump turns on (fingers crossed), we should be all good to open on 31st December. With the Rahotu Service Station now closed for a couple of weeks, you can get your pool season key through the committee. We are planning to sell more keys on opening day at the pool. You can also message the secretary through our page and arrange to purchase your key (our phone numbers are displayed at the pool). Pool keys are an awesome Christmas present :-)
