Pukekohe Community Action Pukekohe Community Action is an outreach organisation in the Franklin area. We offer a range of programmes for all age groups. We also have an Op Shop.

Space, Seasons For Growth and Oasis Playgroup. Community programmes such as Oasis Playgroup for prescchoolers and their caregivers, SPACE group for new mums and their babies, Seasons for Grief and Loss peer support, and Life threatening illness peer group support for siblings and children.

Seasons for Growth is an amazing Programme which helps children and their parents through tough changes and challenges. Just as the seasons change, so do our lives, our feelings and ourselves as we grow to meet our new situations. During one hour sessions over eight weeks, small peer groups will cycle through the different seasons of the year, alongside two trained companions. Using the Seasons metaphor we will embrace themes such as Change, Feelings, Memories, Supports and more, allowing time to listen, share and be with others that can relate. New parents...
We are currently taking bookings for our Space group starting in October 2026 for babies born July - September. The Space group starts on Wednesday October 14th and runs from 9.30 - 11.30am

The group is based in Pukekohe and meets in the hall at Pukekohe Anglican Church, 43 Queen Street, Pukekohe.

Learn, play and grow with your baby. Make connections with other parents and babies of a similar age.
(If you have an older baby aged between 4 - 10 months, please message as we also have some availability in our existing groups on different days and times).

Space supports you and your baby throughout your first year, while you build great relationships with other parents. It's aimed at first time parents but second or more time parents are also welcome.
Together with your little one, you’ll meet weekly over 3 terms (ie 30 weeks) to explore parenting and your baby’s development as you discover what works for your family in a safe, facilitated environment.
As well as discussion topics such as sleep, attachment and brain development, you’ll enjoy music, books and play experiences while getting to know the other families in your group.

There is an initial $50 enrolment fee for Parenting Place when you complete the online enrolment form and a $20 donation per term that goes to Pukekohe Community Action (PCA) who run the course (or a gold coin donation when you can). Payment options are also available for holders of a community services card.

Supporting people in times of change and challenge

This Wednesday, 23 September there is a meeting being held in the Nora Brown Hall at the Pukekohe Anglican Church starting at 7pm.

It is some time since we have met up and we need to be ready for when we next experience a natural disaster within our community.

In our community it is helpful for us to think about how best can we support or assist people who are facing issues in their lives that are causing them to become anxious, angry, stressed or any other response to a challenging situation be it a personal situation or a natural disaster.

We’re pleased to welcome Ross Cormack from Mai Lighthouse, a very experienced and qualified mental health professional social worker who will be presenting a workshop to assist us when we are dealing with people in such situations. Whether we are a good friend, volunteer at an emergency hub or member of a social service provider this may be of help to you as you seek to give help to people in need.

I strongly encourage community hub co-ordinators to come along and to endeavour to bring some people with you who may be be willing to be volunteers at your hub but all are welcome.

An indication of potential attendees would be appreciated to assist with catering. But, if you don't have time to reply, you are welcome to join us.

It's the last few days for voting. Thank you to everyone who has already dropped their token into our PCA slot. All monies raised will go towards our food bank to help support locals in need of food and, if available, other items such as blankets, clothing and baby items.
