UPDATE: please see the photo below with a thank you note from Faith…. 🥳😍
Community House would like to say a massive 🎶HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY🎶 to Faith Wells. Faith has been a volunteer for Motueka Red Cross based at Community House for about 35 years and is an absolute avid knitter of slippers and other wonderful warm stuff. If your child has cosy, knitted slippers at school, chances are they were knitted by our Faith! Faith, we hope you get spoilt rotten on this wonderful milestone! Love from Jane and the team at Community House. 🥳🎂💜

The power of generosity. Keep up the great work Kai Rescue!

100% of the food we save we give away for free. How is this possible you might ask? Kai Rescue is completely dependent on generosity. It could not exist in a selfish community, and that is something we should all be very proud of. We are privileged to be here with many many people who give in a lot of different ways.

Here's an approximate breakdown of where the financial and in-kind support came from between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026.

The value of the donated time cannot be underestimated, and neither can the generosity of our financial donors. And we cannot forget our grant organisations - grants have been the frame that this charity is built on. We could not do it without any of these contributions, and we are very very grateful, as are so many people in our community who benefit from Kai Rescue.
