Im Mai, Juni und Juli ist es wieder soweit. Wie jedes Jahr sind wir auf Horchposten, um die Größe der Kiwi Population zu bestimmen.
Falls ihr Zeit und Lust habt dabei zu sein, kontaktiert Moehau Environment Group.
An drei Nächten wird an jedem der 50 Standorte für zwei Stunden ab ca. 18h in die Nacht gelauscht.

On Sunday 4th August we welcome Edin Whitehead from Northern NZ Seabird Trust to Coromandel! See you 5pm at Pepper Tree Restaurant for her talk...Seabird Secrets.
"What lies on our doorstep, in the vast blue expanse of Tīkapa Moana/The Hauraki Gulf? A surprising number of endemic seabirds call these waters home, hidden in plain sight. In this talk, I’ll share stories from my own work as a seabird biologist and wildlife photographer, covering the unique place of Aotearoa in the seabird world, and some of the efforts to understand and conserve these highly threatened species."

Heute früh die W**d Working Bee Gruppe in Port Charles. Wir haben erfolgreich Woolie Nightshade und Banana Passion fruit
gestutzt und die Stümpfe mit Pestizid behandelt. Die Früchte (reif und unreif) wurden eingesammelt und werden "kontrolliert kompostiert".
Nächsten Sonntag das gleiche nochmal, falls ihr in der Gegend seid - jede Hilfe ist willkommen.

Falls ihr in der Gegend seid. Einfach vorbei kommen!

We are looking forward to next Saturday, the 2nd of December, when we will be meeting to have our AGM! Starts at 10:30 at St John Hall, in Coromandel Town. The team from Waikato Regional Council will be at the AGM as well with their incredible 3D virtual reality headset experience designed to help protect Kauri!
